Southbridge Brewery came out to Goose Island’s Sunday Funday event and won the Battle of the Breweries dodgeball tournament. Jon and I are incredibly privileged to represent Southbridge as a part of this event. All proceeds went to Special Olympics, Goose held a fantastic beer festival and I saw nothing but glorious excitement in the crowd. Thank you to everyone for supporting us… here’s a picture of everyone hitting each other.
This fest will feature beers around and under 4.5%. Jon and I are very excited to be a part of this fest.

Southbridge will be donating and serving these beers:
For most of the summer, we’ve been busy brewing up a storm for many private events and tastings. It goes without saying there’s been a ton of paperwork and contractual negotiations as we finalize our location. But we have a public tasting coming up!
We’re donating kegs and serving beer on the Southside for Labor Day weekend. The Beverly Brews Fest is held by the Beverly Arts Center, and it looks like there will be a dozen other breweries besides Southbridge in attendance. We’ll have at least 4 beers: Southside Ale, Mint Condition IPA, Bring Me Home Berry, and one other not yet decided. There’s really too many to choose from.
So one particular Thursday I was minding my own business on a very late lunch break from work. Browsing on my phone I came across an open submission for homebrew that was happening in about 2 hours at a Craft Beer Cafe by the name of Beermiscuous… Of course a ran home and brought a six pack over for them to try.
The night’s finale was a hybrid between a Belgian and an American Pale Ale brewed by Zigmas Maloni of Southbridge Brewery, a upcoming nano brewery . Named “Southside Ale” the ale was citrusy, and also had an excellent copper color, which gave the appearance of a more professional product than that of an amateur. – Ben Kramer, Chicagoist
Please come out and support Zigmas Maloni and Jon Reimer as we will be serving over 10 different ales and lagers on August 16 from 3pm to 7pm.
The craft beers will be anything from light to dark to fruity to bitter. We are hosting this tasting event to show off new beers and help spread the word for our new up & coming Southbridge Brewery.
Wristband tickets are $20 at the door and include the following:
10+ high quality craft beer tastings
Various foods that correlate with the craft beers
Raffle prize giveaway of Southbridge Brewery merchandise
There will be two Gluten Free beers and gluten free food options. Non beer drinkers will have fun also!
Tickets can be bought in advance from Jon Reimer or Zigmas Maloni, or bought at the door. Just come up to either of us to get a wristband.
We need everyone’s full support to spread the word of our brewery. This event is one of many as we have a series of tastings; we plan our opening of Southbridge Brewery’s Tap house within the next two years.
We thank you for your support and hope to see all of your friends and family there! Please invite many! More the better.
Get in touch with Jon or Zig. On event day, come to us to get you a wristband.
